George F. Smith, Ph.D.
Researcher, Applied Linguistics/TESOL
About me
I am a researcher and teacher specializing in instructed second language acquisition and TESOL. I earned my PhD in Second Language Studies from the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa in December 2020. My research interests include L2 oral proficiency, task-based language teaching, corpus linguistics, curriculum development, and English for specific purposes.
I am particularly interested in applying research insights on the development of L2 listening and lexicogrammatical proficiency to second language classroom practice.
